Apple iOS update from 4.1 to 4.2 included Airprint and this is very nice and attractive feature to have. But Airprint only allows to print in certain printer with airprint support but no network printer support. This time with 4.3 I was wondering if they add network printing support but they didn't. This is a big disappointment for me at-least and lots of people who were waiting for this feature to be provided by Apple instead of spending money to buy new HP printer with airprint support or third party application. I want to use the network printer in my office which is not possible with this update.

MS Office Word 2010 Issue

MS Office Word 2010 looks good and loads fast but I realized that it had an issue with "Select Objects" tool to select different drawing objects just by a click and drag option rather than selecting one by one holding Shift or Ctrl button.
At first I thought it was only me and did little search and read different post from different people and then I realized that it was not me but MS WORD 2010 itself. But the thing works well in MS PowerPoint 2010.
To Solve this issue I called Microsoft and after looooong hold and series of transfers, I finally got a person to help me out with the issue. At first, I was not able to make him understand, may be they didn't get call with issue like this before. I was then connected remotely to Microsoft sharing my Desktop and then I was able to make them understand the issue. He tried his best to look for the resources that he had but was not able to help me out right away and asked me that he will call me back after few (1-2) hours with solution. I am still waiting and its more than 2 hours.
I believe its the problem with their source code may be, I don't know. But I believe now I have brought this issue in Microsoft's attention and hope they will resolve it soon. :)

There are numerous plugins for firefox browser but the plugin Piclens is the good one for the photo to see and it has a 3D animation view which is cool to see and even cool to select different photo from a list of hundreds of photos and easy to access news channel, video and many more.

What was before calculator to calculate the numbers? The Slide Ruler was the one which was the mathematical tool for addition, multiplication, logarithmic and other calculations, a way back than computer was invented.
The Slide Ruler was first invented by William Oughtred in 1625 and the first pocket-sized scientific calculators was introduced by Hewlett Packard in 1972.

For the one who is Bungee Jump lover I would like to say that Nepal has one of the largest Bungee jump location (Ultimate Bungy, Nepal) of 524.93 feet (160 meters) and is ranked in 5th position according to the location but it is the second highest Bungee Jump Center. The number one is Switzerland, the height is of 722 feet at 007 Bungy Jumping Center, Ticino.

Amazing Elephant Painter

I was just looking around some of the videos and saw this video. I think every one should have look to this video and get inspired what can be done and there is nothing impossible other than word impossible itself.

The video is about elephant who is a painter and paints itself a potrait of elephant carrying a flower. You won't believe unless you see it yourself.

Its great... and only word I was able to say looking at this video was : "Oh My God".

Valentine's Day

The day me and my wife (before marriage, 8 years back) knew each other that we like each other and then we shared a bond of love from this day. After sharing the bond of love for 6 years we got married and now we are living our happy married life.

The most interesting thing is that, our wedding date was schedule on this very day but due to the political situation and on-going strike we had to reschedule our wedding day to 20th of this month.
This year we are celebrating our 2nd Anniversary.

I thought that working condition of government staff in third world country is not perfect and unknown about their own system but I experienced the same here in US too.

Previously, I was in US in different status of visa so I was not able to have my SSN which is pretty much straight forward but after I was admitted to graduate school with scholarship and assistantship which then allows me to have SSN. I applied for my SSN on Sept 2007 and still my SSN was not issued, and then I went to Federal office (6th time) on Jan 2008 to know what is that taking so long since I have to submit the tax form and all. There I got to know that they were waiting and asking for my visa to be stamped as F1 in my passport, I was surprised as I have all the legal document from homeland security which clearly says that my F1 status is approved and I have new I94 in it, and again the same Homeland security is asking me for F1 visa. The most funny thing is that the federal office employee working in SSN department doesn't know where to get visa.

Fedora Linux Vs My computer

I had a very bad experience with fedora linux in my HP (AMD) notebook.

I installed fedora twice in my notebook, first time, in July 2006 with windows in other partition. It was running quite well and everything was fine, but after 2 days of installation, the next morning when I started my computer my whole operating system was crashed, and then I recoverd windows any how using recovery disk but my 20 GB of hard drive space was missing so then I sent my notebook to HP company to reset everything in factory setting, Thank god I was in warranty period, and then after I was trying to avoid installing linux in my system.

But since I am doing PhD in computational biophysics so I needed to install linux as everything in department I was running in linux so I thought last time it might be something wrong and might be coincidence so this time not to take risk I ask the computer expert to install linux (fedora) in my system, he did preety good and again everything was fine and working well except the wireless network which I was able to install. On the same very day after installation and all I shut down my notebook and went for department with my notebook where when I started my computer it was total disaster. My notebook was not letting be go into the BIOS either, it just showed me HP logo and kept on restarting, and when I tried to enter the BIOS so that I can boot computer from CD, it showed me a message "System BIOS shadowed", "Video BIOS shadowed" and that's it. I was not able to boot my computer not even enter the BIOS, and most interesting part is that my warranty period was expired, and I asked HP company for solution they gave me option of paying $298.00 and recover the system and have 90 days of warranty :( .And then I thought I should figure out the problem and see if it worths $298 to pay.

Finally, I figured it out that my hard drive is not working any more. After I removed my hard drive, I was able to enter the BIOS setup. Now I have to buy new hard drive.

From now on, I am never going to try Fedora or any other linux OS in my AMD HP notebook, although it might be coincidence.

What do you feel when you see rat? Do you scream, Jump up in the bed and try to hide yourself or you chase to kill the rat? If your answer is affirmative to any of these questions, then you need to see movie “Ratatouille”. You will start liking rats as you did watching “Straut little”.

“Ratatouille” is the animated movie which is the one I liked a lot among “Finding Nemo”, “Final Fantacy”, “Happy Feet”, and others. This movie was shown for free in our university theater and Its nice to watch and have fun with friends and family and it worths money to spend on. Thanks to Disney.

Actually, Ratatouille is a dish of stewed vegetables, originally from southern France, usually consisting of tomatoes, onions, peppers, eggplant, and zucchini cooked slowly in olive oil.

Now the days has gone when we have to call home (Nepal) from US and Canada. Nepal Telephone Company has provided the Easy Call card service from which you can call USA and Cananda for just NRs 8.00 per minute with very good quality of sound and connection from Nepal.
